Hello!! I’m Jennifer, a dietitian, and professional strongwoman. I’ve been a dietitian, helping people improve their health and wellbeing for about 17 years. My dietitian journey started with a major in psychology that switched to nutrition after taking a food science class that inspired me. I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Science and Dietetics and went on to get my Master’s degree in that as well. My specialties are weight loss, diabetes management (Certified Diabetes Educator), emotional eating, and sports nutrition.
I’ve practiced in all types of settings, including hospitals, outpatient clinics, long term care facilities, rehab programs, and in private practice. During that time, I have counseled clients with a large variety of goals; losing weight, lowering blood pressure and blood sugar, improving athletic performance, decreasing GI symptoms (such as with IBS), and much more.
My practice has recently become focused on consulting, because I travel about 9 months out of the year, as a performing strongwoman. What does that mean? Well, I perform with a show that has been around over 70 years and travels all over the United States. During shows, I bend horseshoes, tear decks of cards and phonebooks in half, break apart steel chain, and bend bolts (with other feats in the works). I have been professionally coached by a strongman for several years, and have been performing full-time for two years.
Aside from what I do as a strong woman, I also have a background in running (everything from 10k to marathons), triathlon (Olympic and Half Ironman), and open water swimming races. I’m even currently training for a 50k run!
As I say at the end of my strong woman act, “Now that I’ve performed those feats of strength, I hope I’ve inspired you to find your own strength.” I’m here to help you on your journey to better nutrition and health, through a collaboration between us. I look forward to working with you!
