Certified Specialist in Pediatric Nutrition
Hey y’all, I’m Katie! I’m a resident Nashvillian who’s a God-mother to a handful of boys and a dog aunt to two boys. I’ve been a Registered Dietitian for 7 years and I’m also a Certified Specialist in Pediatric Nutrition. I love all things Jesus, coffee, Greek food, and SEC football. I have worked with many families over the years to incorporate sound nutrition habits and wellness into their lives, and I can’t wait to do the same with you and your loved ones!
I am originally from Alabama and was a gymnast for fourteen years. My gymnastics career ended when I finished high school and I went on to college at The University of Alabama. I began as an exercise science major, because I knew I wanted to do something related to wellness, but quickly changed to being a nutrition major once I realized I couldn’t put my roommates textbooks down at night (she was a nutrition major from the start!). I continued my education at UAB and received a Masters in Clinical Nutrition before moving to Nashville and working at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital for five years. During that time, I began to feel pulled toward inner city ministry, and just shy of my five year anniversary at Vanderbilt I quit my job and switched careers. I now work full-time in non-profit fundraising and kids ministry, but I continue to seek ways to incorporate my love for nutrition into my life every day!
My passions are working with children and families, providing science-based nutrition content in a relatable and fun manner, and seeing other people achieve their goals. Whether it’s helping a single mom figure out how to purchase and prepare nutritious foods for her kids or teaching a teenage athlete to use nutrition to improve their performance– I’m your girl! I cannot wait to meet you and your family, and help you find balance and success!
